About Us
For over 30 years, District 279 Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, has been dedicated to supporting scholars in Osseo Area Schools. District 279 Foundation funds innovative projects and acknowledges the achievements of scholars and staff at the annual Investment in Youth celebration. Serving the fifth-largest school district in the state of Minnesota, the Foundation’s programs serve scholars in all or parts of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Corcoran, Dayton, Maple Grove, Osseo, Plymouth and Rogers.
Areas of Focus
1) Support scholars through innovative and creative projects that enhance curriculum, experiential learning opportunities or contribute to the community.
2) Recognize and celebrate the many achievements and success stories of the scholars, volunteers and staff in Osseo Area Schools at the Investment in Youth celebration. This annual celebration recognizes individuals from each site for their commitment and dedication to our community.

2026 Odd Fellows Scholarships Presented
Osseo Senior High students Olivia Smith, Sophia Yang, Evelyn Munoz Saldivar, Kristopher Wright, Kiana Nelson, Noel Dweh have each receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Osseo Independent Order of Odd Fellows in partnership with District 279 Foundation. The scholarships will be used to support their education at North Hennepin Community College or Hennepin Technical College.
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows has a long-standing history of service to the local community. Although the Osseo lodge has disbanded, their history of service continues through this scholarship.

OUR MISSION: To support and enhance the district's dedication to all scholars.
OUR VISION: To provide learning opportunities for scholars in Osseo Area Schools by funding programs, projects and other opportunities that are not currently funded through the district's budget.
CORE VALUES: We believe that there is a moral, social and economic imperative to support scholar success and equitable achievement.
